You can engage with this support by text, chat, or phone call, and there are video call options for those deaf or hard of hearing. Choose whatever format is most comfortable for you!
What is 988?

Mental health crises: Experiencing anxiety, depression, panic attacks, or other mental health challenges.
Substance abuse: Struggling with addiction to drugs or alcohol.
Emotional distress: Feeling overwhelmed, lonely, or isolated.

How does it work?
Simply dial 988 from any phone, and you'll be connected to a trained counselor who will listen without judgment and offer support and guidance. Text “talk” to 988 to connect by text, or get online at www.988nm.org to start a chat. It’s completely free. You can remain anonymous. There’s no time limit. And support is available in both English and Spanish.
