Health & Wellness Initiative

Recognizing the vital role community foundations play in advocating for change at the local level, Anchorum Health Foundation is investing $25 million over five years in five community foundations across northern New Mexico. This funding empowers each foundation to tackle local priorities – such as food security, housing, and more – and the support is designed to be flexible, responsive, and impactful.

The five community foundations are Las Vegas New Mexico Community Foundation, Los Alamos Community Foundation, New Mexico Foundation, Taos Community Foundation, and Santa Fe Community Foundation.

This $25 million commitment also includes serving all of the state’s Pueblos and Tribal Nations, along with the thirteen northern New Mexico counties served by the Community Foundations.

For San Miguel and Mora Counties,  Las Vegas NM Community Foundation

The Las Vegas NM Community Foundation will be serving the people and communities of San Miguel and Mora Counties, and to do this most effectively has hired two Anchorum Fellows to head up this initiative.

The role of these Anchorum Fellows includes seeking community input and identifying priorities for our service area, engaging community partnerships and building relationships around these important issues, and cultivating a strategic application of Anchorum funds to foster long-term, sustainable and systematic change that results in measurable progress on key issues.

For San Miguel and Mora Counties, we have two Anchorum Fellows doing this valuable work. Meet them below!
